◎ Toshiko Mitani: A Japanese painter from Hyogo Prefecture. Her real name is Toshiko. She is one of the representative female Japanese painters. From before the war until shortly after the war, she mainly depicted girls in kimono, and from around 1950, she focused on women in Western clothing, imbuing her paintings with a poetic flavor through thick, soft colors.
